Performers 2011 - 2012
Federica Porello
She graduated at P.a.r.t.s. in 2006, her graduation work was “Nothing Loses Something” a monologue made with the help of Mathias DeKoning, performed in the P.a.r.t.s. tour 2006. After graduating she worked with the Capeverdian choreographer Marlene Monteiro Freitas, for the creation of “Larvar”, produced by the Gulbenkian Foundation and performed at Acarte, Center for Contemporary Art, in Lisbon.
In 2007 she made, with the help of Ivan Castineiras and Cesar Harada, the video work “P.a.r.t.s. at Centre Pompidou”, a documentation of the itinerary performance of the third year students at the Centre Pompidou, produced by P.a.r.t.s., shown at the Batar Festival in Bruxelles.
She took part to the project “it will be what we make it”, organized by Alkantara in Lisbon, a meeting of artists from Portugal and outside Portugal, which became a collective performative inauguration of the new space for the Festival (itwillbewhatwemakeit.wordpress.com).
In January 2008 she joined the fourth year students of P.a.r.t.s. in the recreation of “Rain”, repertoire piece by Anne-Teresa Dekeersmaker, which was performed in the Parts tour 2008 (www.parts.be/Home/Oldnews/tabid/73/language/en-US/Default.aspx) and won the It’s Festival Guest Award 2008.
Ongoing project is “Statues”, a duet of improvisation dance and music with the saxophone player Ilan Manouach (www.ilanmanouach.com/otherframeset.htm).
She is currently working on a documentary, produced by P.a.r.t.s., with the help of Antonio Trullen, on one of Trisha Brown’s masterpiece “Set and Reset”, and specifically on the problematics and challenges of teaching it as repertoire in order to pass on the precious information it conteins (with the supervision of Lance Gries, former dancer in Trisha Brown’s Company and leading teacher of the piece)
